Alexander Hamilton
Alexander Hamilton was born in 1757 on the island of Nevis. He was illegitimately born to James Hamilton and Rachel Faucette. His mother was English-French Huguenot and his father was Scotchman businessman.
Alexander was abandoned by his father and his mother died in 1768 and he became orphan. After this he moved to his mother’s relatives on Saint Croix Island, where he started working as a clerk in his uncle’s import-export firm. In the autumn of 1772 he moved to New York. He studied at Elizabethtown Academy, then in 1773 he matriculated at King’s College.
In 1777 he joined George Washington and became general-colonel. During 4 years he was the secretary of George Washington and his helper in confidential cases. In 1780 he married to Elizabeth Shiller. In 1789 he took the post of finance minister and he was working on this post till January 31, 1795. His reputation was damaged because of his romance with Maria Raynolds. Alexander Hamilton died after his duel with Aaron Barr in 1804.
