Edward Walker Biography

Vyell Edward Walker, English cricketer was born in Southgate, Middlesex on April 20, 1837. He started studying at the Harrow School. He was one of 7 cricket player brothers. Thanks to them theMiddlesex County Cricket Club was founded in 1864.

From 1856 to 1870 Edward Walker represented MCC as a right-handed batsman and a right arm bowler. He represented Middlesex XI from 1859 to 1863 and Middlesex CCC from 1864 to 1877. From 1864 to 1872 he was the captain of the country club. From 1891 to 1892 he was serving as president of Marylebone Cricket Club and from 1899 to 1906 as a president of Middlesex County Cricket Club.

Edward Walker  died at Arnos Grove, when he was 68 years old.
