Ellen G. White Biography
Ellen G. White (whose birth surname was Harmon), American writer was born on November 26, 1827. She was the daughter of Robert and Eunice Harmon and the twin sister of Elizabeth Harmon. The couple had eight children. The family was living in a farm in Maine. Mr. Robert was a hatmaker and kids were helping him. After Mr. Robert had stopped farming, the family moved to Portland.
In 1846, at the age of 19 she married to James Springler White and Ellen Harmon became Ellen White. The couple had four children: Henry, James Edson, William Clarence and John. Unfortunately two sons died in their early ages: John Herbert died when he was only a baby, three months old and Henry Nichols died when he was 16 years old.
