Eric Liddell Biography
Eric Liddell, Scottish athlete was born in in Tientsin, China, on January 16, 1902. He was the son of the Rev. and Mrs. James Dunlop Liddell. Eric had a brother and a sister. Eric started studying at the age of five. At the age of eight he and his brother entered to Eltham College. The family was mainly living in Edinburgh.
At the college Eric a sportsman. As the best athlete in his age group, he was awarded with Blackheath Cup. When he was 15, he became the captain of the cricket and rugby union teams. Eric continued studying at Oxford College, where Liddell became known as the fastest runner in Scotland. From that time, some newspapers were publishing storeys in which Eric Liddell was a potential winner of Olympic.
Eric Liddell won Gold and Bronze medals in Olimpic Games in 1924. He died in 1945.
