James F. Byrnes Biography
James Francis Byrnes was born in South Carolina on May 2, 1882. His father died very soon after his birth. His mother was Elizabeth McSweeney Byrnes, an Irish-American dressmaker.
A very interesting fact is that successful American politician, James Byrnes has never studied in law school, college or university. James attended to St. Patrick's Catholic School. He left the school in 1896 and started work as court stenographer in a law office. James Byrnes married to Maude Perkins Busch. They did not have children. He had only the godchild, James Christopher Connor.
James Francis Byrnes was working as the representative of USA during 1911–1925, as U.S. Senator during 1931–1941. He became a Justice of the Supreme Court in 1941 and 4 years later he became the Secretary of State. Byrnes is also known as the 104th governor of South Carolina.
James F. Byrnes died on the 9th April in 1972.
