Rau'Shee Warren Biography
- Rau'shee Warren (February 13, 1987) is the 2007 flyweight worl champion and is an American professional boxer. She hails from the impoversihed English Woods community in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated from Harmony Community School.
- He began his training at East Side gym at the age of 6 and by 8 years old he won his first amateur fight. At the 1st AlBA American 2004 Qualiying Tournamnet in 2004, he qualified for the U.S. boxing team's 106-pound light flyweight, to represent the country in the 2004 Athens Olympics. He was both the youngest boxer in the games and the youngest US male in all sports. He moved up to the flyweight soon after and in 2005-2006, became US champion.
- At the 2005 World Amateur Boxing Championship in Mianyang he got the Bronze medal after deafeating Greorgy Balakshin, a European boxer, whom he previously lost, and by suprisingly defeated by Lee Ok-Sung, a Korean boxer. In 2006 he was named USA Boxing's 2006 Athlete of the Year together with Light middleweight Akima Stocks. In the same year, he moved to bantamweight but in November he lost to Cuban Guillermo Rigondeaux.
- In 2007 he returned to flyweight ranks and became a US champion by defeating the Thai boxer, Somit Jongjohor in the finals of 2007 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Chicago. He became the first American boxer to compete in two Olympic Games, when he played in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He remained in the amateur ranks and ascended to the Bantamweight but eventually lost to Jesus Magdaleno.
- In the World series of Boxing in Los Angeles, he secured a Bronze in 2009 US Nationals, gold in 2010 and bronze in 2011 at the Worlds. He also won a gold medal in 2011 individual competition at the WSB. In the 2011 US Olympic Trials, he won the bronze and for the third time was qualified to play in the Olympics which will be held in London. This is an unprecedented achievemnt for an American boxer at only 25.
