Susannah York Biography
Susannah York, American actress was born in Chelsea, London on January 9, 1939. Her parents were Simon Fletcher, merchant banker and Joan Bowing, who married in 1935. The couple had two daughters. Her grandfather was Walter Bowring, a British diplomat, who was serving as the administrator of Dominica during 1933-1935. The great-great-grandfather of Susannah York was John Bowring, politican economist. After her parents had devorced, her father married at the second time and had a son from his second wife. Her mother also married at the second time.
Susannah was stadying at the Marr College, Wispers School and at the Glasgow College of Dramatic art. In 1960, she married to Michael Wells.The couple had two children: Sasha and Orlando.
The actress is mostly known for her role in They Shoot Hourses, Don’t They? Susannah York died in in Londonfrom bone marrow cancer on January 15, 2011, at the age of 72.
